TypoSweep

Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 May 2026

These Terms govern your use of TypoSweep ("the Service"). By uploading a manuscript or paying for an audit, you accept these Terms.

1. What the Service does

TypoSweep is an automated proofreading service. You upload a Microsoft Word manuscript; we run it through an AI-driven typo-detection pipeline and return a report plus a tracked-changes version of your document.

2. No guarantees on accuracy

TypoSweep's flags are produced by an AI model. The system is designed to be high-precision (it should rarely flag something that isn't a real issue), but it is not infallible. You are responsible for reviewing every suggested change before applying it. We make no warranty that the audit will catch every typo in your manuscript, that every flag we surface is a real error, or that suggested fixes are stylistically appropriate. The tracked-changes file is intended to make review easy — accept what you like, reject what you don't.

3. Payment

The free preview audits the first 5,000 words of your manuscript and is free of charge. The full audit costs $29 (USD), payable in advance via Stripe. Stripe processes all payments; we never see or store your card information.

4. Refunds

If the audit fails to complete due to a technical fault on our end, we will refund the $29 charge automatically. If you're unhappy with the results of a completed audit, contact us within 14 days at hello@typosweep.com and we'll work with you in good faith. We do not offer refunds for reasons unrelated to the Service's performance (e.g., changing your mind about whether to publish).

5. Your manuscript

You retain all rights to your manuscript. We claim no ownership and no license other than the limited license to process the file necessary to produce your audit. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle and delete uploaded files.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use TypoSweep to upload content you don't have the right to process, to attempt to overwhelm or abuse the Service, or to use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TypoSweep's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
